Announcement Position Description Interlibrary Loans Resume Make A Request curbside pickup now available for reserved materials! Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: Noon to 3pm We invite you to reserve books, DVDs, and other materials through our website, by searching the online catalog, identifying items you want, and placing the request (or “hold”) using your account information. You may have a total of up to ten holds at a time on one account. Look for an email when your holds are available; if you don’t have an email address on your account, we’ll give you a call. If you need a library card, applications will be available during curbside service hours. Items will be available for pickup at our front entrance between 12:00 and 3:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays . This service is for curbside pickup only: no one is allowed inside the building. When approaching the pickup table, please maintain the 6-foot spacing requirement and wear a facemask . ProQuest is launching a new Coronavirus Research Database, giving all ProQuest users access to full-text content covering all facets of COVID-19 and related infectious diseases. Log into ProQuest with your Library Card and PIN Book Drops Around the Island Book Drops Open: We’re accepting returns. In addition to the book drop in front of the library, we have three more book drops conveniently located around the island: To the east: the Olga book drop is located at the Post Office. New Location . On the west side, in Deer Harbor: you can find the book drop in front of the Deer Harbor Community Club. At the Orcas ferry landing: the book drop sits in front of the Cottage Gift Shop on Orcas Road. The book drops are checked and emptied on a weekly basis. Got Prizes? Got Prizes? Did you ‘Imagine a Story’ at an island preserve, have library dollars to cash in for books, or a bingo card that’s worthy of praise? Summer Reading Program prizes (t-shirts, books, metal water bottles, etc.) await you. Claim them at the Library through August during curb-side pickup hours (noon to 3 pm - Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays), or before they disappear! The SRP is generously sponsored by Friends of the Orcas Island Library. "Imagine Your Story" This summer @ the Library CHECK OUT THE WEB PAGE Readers of all ages will explore all things fairytale, fantasy, and myth this summer as Orcas Island Public Library presents “Imagine Your Story” library programing . Children’s activities include: the ever popular ‘books for library dollars‘ program, virtual creature creation programs, and a new explorer program sure to get kids and families out and onto their island preserves this summer! CHECK OUT THE WEB PAGE The 2020 Summer Reading Program runs June 21st to August 15th. Registration for the children’s SRP starts on Wednesday, June 17h. The first 100 kids to register get a free bandana! Teens and adults are also encouraged to grab a book bingo card and attendant this summer’s activities. All programs are free and open to the public.
